30 Something

A lot of girls do the "i'm pregnant" April Fools joke, but I took it one step further. I told my bf that I was preg, but I said that I didn't know if it was his or not. It was so funny. I had it set up good. He asked me on Sat if I would join him for dinner at his sis house, which I told him that I'd think about, but I was leaning towards not going. I told him that I'd call him before church on Sunday to let him know. Instead I sent a text saying that I wouldn't be able to make it to dinner and that we needed to talk. Of course anytime someone says, "we need to talk, u brace urself." So I later called and asked if he got my text and after a little small talk he asked if I went to church and I said that I hadn't because I didn't feel well. Then I sprung it on him, "i'm pregnant," There was silence for what seemed like forever. The he had to put me on hold and when he came back I broke it down even more, "I just need to figure out who's it is." There was silence and then he asked, "So u was seeing someone before me, what it ur ex?" I told him that it wasn't. Silence. "Well at least u being up front about that." Silence. Me, "man my phone tripping the time is acting crazy I need to set it. What's today?" Him, " the first of the month...(pause) aw man, u trippin." I cracked up. It was so funny. He said that he was gonna give me a word or two about not knowing who it was. He said he was also trippin cause he knew we used condoms. Then he said he started making plans in his head about "steppin up his game--going to find a better job, etc." I just cracked up. I will say that one thing that kind of urked me was the fact that he needed an announcement of a new baby to "step up his game and look for a new job." I guess I understand, but dag, can't u do that now. Y not try to improve urself now instead of waiting for life to make that decision for u? I was going to do that same joke on Al, but I didn't have the energy.
